Deciding where and what to study

Choosing what to study at university can be tricky. However, Raiza followed her passions and found the perfect course to suit her interests and career goals.

“I decided on this path due to my strong interest in the logistics and supply chain industry, recognizing its present and future significance, as well as its continuous growth.”

For international students, it is also not just what to study but where. For Raiza, the decision came down to the atmosphere and quality of the institution.

“I selected Perth as my study destination over other options because of its stunning and vibrant yet serene atmosphere. I chose UWA primarily because of its outstanding reputation and high ranking. UWA's Business School stood out to me as the ideal place to launch my future career and pursue my master's degree.”

Receiving the Western Australia’s Premier’s University Scholarship

The Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarship, funded by the Government of Western Australia, is a scholarship to support international students with a one-off payment of $50,000 to use towards course fees and other university costs. The scholarship is awarded to two international students from UWA each year, up until 2026.

In 2023, Raiza was awarded the Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarship, which had a major impact on her academic journey. She says:

“It has served as a tremendous source of motivation for me, pushing me to work even harder to achieve my study goals. The support provided by this scholarship has been a significant relief, alleviating the financial burdens that can come with studying abroad.

This financial assistance has made the entire international student experience much more manageable, helping me overcome the overwhelming feeling that can often accompany studying in a foreign country.”
