The Academic Board is the chief academic body in the University. It is responsible to the Senate for assuring quality, integrity and the maintenance of standards in all academic activities including teaching, scholarship and research and compliance with relevant external regulatory requirements, including the Higher Education Standards Framework.

Academic Council

The Academic Council is the executive arm of the Academic Board through which most of the Board’s business is conducted.

Schools governance

Schools form part of the governance arrangements of the University. Each School has a governance document approved by the Academic Board, which sets out the constitution and membership of the School and its committees and boards. The School Board or equivalent, which exercises the powers and functions of the School and is responsible for the conduct of the School academic business, is a Standing Committee of the Academic Board.
