  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Contact Officers

    UWA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Contact Officers are trained to provide confidential advice and preliminary support in cases where staff or students feel uncomfortable or distressed by the conduct of another member of the University community.   • Cultural and Linguistic Diversity Working Group
    The Cultural and Linguistic Diversity Working Group aims to raise the visibility of the University’s multicultural community, educate on matters pertaining to multiculturalism and support UWA’s multicultural community.   • Disability Access and Inclusion Working Group
    The Disability Access and Inclusion Working Group aims to make UWA accessible for staff and students with a disability. They educate the UWA community and raise awareness for issues affecting people living with a disability. The Physical and Wayfinding group, a sub-committee of the Working Group, works closely with UniAccess and Campus Management to identify areas of improvement and implement change.   • Gender Equity Working Group
    The Gender Equity Working Group aims to improve gender equity at UWA and is responsible for the Science and Gender Equity (SAGE) Athena SWAN accreditation framework. Some of its initiatives include the inclusion and diversity seminar series, the UWA Panel Pledge and inclusive meeting guidelines. The executive sponsor is Professor Tim Colmer.   • LGBTIQA+ Working Group
    The LGBTIQA+ Working Group raises visibility for, and supports staff and students who identify as members of the LGBTIQA+ community. It also co-ordinates the University’s participation in Pride events. Members of this Working Group are responsible for the delivery of Ally training at UWA. The executive sponsor of the LGBTIQA+ Working Group is Professor Tim Colmer.   • Student Equity and Participation Working Group
    The Student Equity and Participation Working Group is responsible for supporting the increasing diversity of our student cohort and promoting inclusive practice through the UWA Student Access and Participation Framework.
