Breaksea and UWA Music present Fairy Queen

In an exciting collaboration with the University of Western Australia’s Conservatorium of Music and the Albany Entertainment Centre, Breaksea presents a new, fully staged production of Fairy Queen - a stunning reinvention of William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream and Henry Purcell's baroque opera Fairy Queen directed by Matt Ward and choreographed by Scott Elstermann.

Part opera, part play and part contemporary dance, Fairy Queen features a massed cast of actors, About Face Youth Choir, children's choirs and Breaksea youth mentorship participants.

The University of Western Australia’s Conservatorium of Music Chamber Orchestra will be led by Shaun Lee Chen and the principal cast led by world renowned sopranos Sara Macliver and Pia Adriana Harris. Local actors include Jarrad Inman, Rachael Colmer, Carmen Fasolo, Thomas Croucher & Imogen Taylor.

Fairy Queen is a magical, underwater spectacle for all to enjoy!  This timeless tale is presented through song, dance, projection and shadow puppetry.  With groovy 70s inspired costumes and a world-class cast, this production is a must-see!
