Centre Stage

In 2018 the UWA Conservatorium of Music launched The Irwin Street Collective. This exciting project is led by three of Perth’s most celebrated musicians: Cecilia Sun, Sara Macliver and Shaun Lee-Chen. For many years UWA Music has been involved in the development and advancement of historically-informed performance. With students having access to world-leading mentors such as Sara, Cecilia, Shaun (Concertmaster of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra) and Suzanne Wijsman, we have produced some of today's most celebrated period performers.

The Irwin Street Collective aims to build on this reputation and enrich the Australian musical community through interaction with leaders in historically-informed performance.  We invite you to join us in 2019 for more exceptional performances and events with world-leaders in the field.

The Irwin Street Collective with Miriam Allan

Soprano Miriam Allan’s “sublime singing” (Gramophone, 2017) has been enjoyed around the world. As UWA Institute of Advance Studies Visiting Fellow she joins Sara Macliver, Cecilia Sun and Shaun Lee-Chen for a special free concert.
