New rivalries to test UWA Maali in season three of University Basketball League Australia

The student-only University Basketball League competition has proved to be a popular league across the nation, UWA Maali is gearing up for season three with new rivalries debuting in the league.

The University Basketball League Australia (UBL) is a national university basketball competition first established in 2021. The twelve week competition involves both men's and women's divisions with thirteen universities competition across six states in a home and away format.

UniSport Australia (UniSport) announced the expansion of the University Basketball League Australia (UBL) with an additional two universities joining the league in third year of the competition. UWA Maali is one of the seven founding universities and an inaugural team to join the league since the inception of the league. The new season will see UWA Maali compete against the new kids on the block, Australian Catholic University and University of Tasmania. The two new universities joining the league in 2023 will take the league to new heights with 13 universities participating in the league.

The 2023 UBL season will commence on the 14 March 2023 with nine weeks of home and away games and three weeks of finals including the Grand Final commencing in the week of 29 May 2023.
