With 2020 Nationals cancelled due to COVID-19, Western Australian universities came together for the inaugural Western Series held across multiple campuses.
More than 120 student athletes from UWA, Curtin, ECU, Murdoch and Notre Dame came together for the multisport competition, with a separate Indigenous Western Series event held on the Friday.
UWA proved to be the strongest team of the competition, picking up 7 golds and 6 silvers, as well as winners of Indigenous Western Series.
UWA’s wins included men’s and women’s basketball and hockey, and men’s badminton.
The Indigenous Western Series was a tightly fought competition, with the victor decided in a close volleyball match between UWA and ECU, with UWA narrowly winning.
Congratulations to all students who participated in the competition.
