Data Sources for Global Health PUBHM502

In many fields of work, it is becoming increasingly important to understand and use data on global health.  Changes in the demography and health of populations in one part of the world are affecting populations everywhere, not only in the health sector, but in other sectors such as commerce, agriculture, education and community development.

This micro-credential will build your knowledge and skills to find and use data on a range of global health topics, including the prevalence of diseases, population growth and ageing, health workforce capacity, and health emergency data for responding to humanitarian crises and climate change. You will explore the many global health data sources that are available online, discuss their strengths and limitations, and learn when and how to use them in your work.

To complete the micro-credential, you will watch a series of pre-recorded lectures, join four online interactive seminars via Zoom (every Thursday for four weeks), and complete an assessment in which you find and use global health data to answer a question relevant to your own work or research.
