PROJECT

The Renaissance Moved Reading Project

Reading Renaissance plays for both learning and fun

The Renaissance Moved Reading Project invites students, staff and friends to read plays from the English Renaissance period on the New Fortune Theatre stage. Plays are selected from texts being studied in relevant units, and the readings are open to all. Explore the plays in an exciting, creative way and develop a deeper understanding of the text in performance.

An embodied reading allows participants to explore the characters, emotions, words and actions of the play. The readings also provide a dynamic learning space that creates a fun and entertaining experience for anyone who has an interest in early modern drama, acting or theatre studies.
