The University of Western Australia’s Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Public Health with Specialisation programs have received official accreditation from the Agency for Public Health Accreditation (APHEA), among just two programs in Australia to achieve this recognition.

UWA’s School of Population and Global Health Head of School Colleen Fisher said the APHEA accreditation held global significance, expanding employment opportunities for Public Health graduates on both a national and international scale.
"This accreditation reflects the exceptional quality of teaching at UWA and not only elevates our program's international profile but also enhances the employment prospects for our MPH graduates,” Dr Fisher said.
UWA's MPH program is known for its flexibility, allowing students to tailor their learning experience through coursework, practicum, and/or dissertation options.
Students gain hands-on experience by working alongside industry professionals and completing work placements in various public health sectors, including government, non-government research, and the private sector.
Master of Public Health student Josh Newton said the highlight of his journey had been working on his dissertation and collaborating closely with leading academics on a topic he was deeply passionate about.
