The University of Western Australia has transformed its annual Open Day to an all-digital experience this year and will launch a suite of new courses available to study from 2021.
The 2020 UWA Virtual Open Day will take place this Sunday 2 August between 10am and 3pm.
The new course offerings are designed to respond to needs of the Western Australian economy, industry and society, and prepare students for a rapidly changing world by allowing them to specialise in their chosen field, ensuring they are well prepared for jobs of the future.
The courses include new majors and minors, as well as new bachelor’s, honours and postgraduate degrees. They include bachelor’s degrees in automation and robotics, artificial intelligence and international cybersecurity.
A new four-year combined bachelor’s and master’s degree is also available where students can enter accelerated pathways to a master’s degree-level qualification or exit after three years with an advanced bachelor’s degree.
The Virtual Open Day will include live and pre-recorded information sessions, demonstrations and the opportunity to ask questions about courses, careers and campus life.
Visitors will learn about our courses, explore facilities via video and get an insight into life as a UWA student.
Prospective students can chat live with students, staff and graduates about study options and future careers, and gain tips to help with the transition from high school to university.
Those who register and join live will also be in the running to win a student-designed pack that includes Apple AirPods, a Kanken backpack, Uber Eats gift voucher, UWA Sport membership and more.
The 2020 UWA Virtual Open Day website will remain live for two weeks following the event to give everyone the opportunity to learn more about the University from the comfort of home.
