About the speaker
Charlie Gunningham works for the Australian Government on its signature $485M 'Accelerating Commercialisation' innovation fund. Landing in Perth in the late 90s as a school teacher, Charlie graduated top of his MBA class at the UWA Business School, co-founded the online real estate business aussiehome.com, which was acquired by REIWA in 2010, whereupon he ran reiwa.com.
More recently, he's been CEO of Business News, and is now a full time Commercialisation Adviser on the Accelerating Commercialisation program, which provides commercialisation advice and matching grants of up to $1M to eligible novel pre-revenue Australian business projects. Charlie spends as much time as he can among WA's startup community, sits on various advisory and full boards and occasionally tries to improve his golf handicap or bang a drum in a band.
