The UWA School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing, with the Western Australia Mathematical Olympiad (WAJO) Committee, will be hosting the WA Junior Mathematics Olympiad again in 2024, for all WA students in Year 7, 8 and 9 to challenge, inspire and nurture the growth of young minds who love mathematics.
2024 competition details
Individual paper: Between 2.30pm and 4pm on Tuesday 15 October, online at your school.
Team Paper: At UWA around Alexander Lecture Theatre (or Bunbury) from 9am on Saturday 19 October.
Prize Ceremony: Social Sciences Lecture Theatre from 11.30am on Saturday 19 October.
What to Bring: Pens, pencils, and if you wish, ruler and compass.
Special conditions: No calculators. Brains only.

How to enter
Please email [email protected] if your school intends to register students but you did not receive the letter to schools.
This year students may participate as individuals only on Tuesday 15 October, but students participating in the team paper must have participated in the individual paper on 15 October, and then must sit the team paper in the team they were registered in, prior to sitting the individual paper.
A completed registration form with names of the participating students and accompanying teachers can be submitted via email. Bank details will be provided for payment of the registration fees upon receipt of the form.
Participants email list
We have set up a WAJO participants email list. This email list is moderated to prevent spamming. It is used to notify the Principal or Heads of Mathematics Departments or others interested in or involved in the organising of school teams for the Olympiad.
