Maha Chaar

Master of Laws - Coursework

Maha Chaar

I have a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and wanted to progress my education further.  I chose to study a Master of Laws by coursework because I believe that the course will build on my knowledge base and I was attracted to the option of choosing from a wide range of units. I am thoroughly enjoying the flexibility of the intensive units on offer.  I work full-time in the city so my time away from the office is limited, so doing an intensive unit is most conducive to my working hours and provides me with the flexibility that I need.

With UWA being a top 1% university in the world, the choice to study here was easy.  UWA has an exceedingly high reputation and I wanted to be part of that.

Studying at the UWA Business School has been a rewarding experience and helped me understand how concepts can be applied in the real world with the guidance of lecturers who are always there to help. I chose to do a Master of Business Information Management because I wanted to expand my knowledge in project management for IT infrastructure. The units in the course teach me new skills and provide a practical application in current organisational structures.

The Master of Business Information and Logistics Management is a very unique course at UWA. It blends specific areas to prepare you for the business world. In addition to the eminent professors and high-quality lectures in the Faculty, we get the opportunity to receive personal guidance. As a Guild member, I enjoy the exposure I get to different disciplines because the students involved are from departments all over the University.

Travis Smith

Master of Teaching - Coursework (Primary)

Travis Smith

I chose to enrol in the Master of Teaching course because through my undergraduate degree in Sport Science I was able to get experience teaching at schools and found it to be an enjoyable and rewarding career pathway. The thing I have enjoyed most about my course is my practicum placements, where I have been able to go out and put what I have learnt into action in a classroom. This has provided me with many enjoyable experiences and has further developed my skills as an educational practitioner.

My favourite aspect of studying at UWA is that everyone is so friendly and ready to help. The facilities are brilliant and you have everything you will need in your studies.

I hope to finish my course and progress onto becoming a successful primary school teacher who impacts many of his students.

Nigel Bateman

Master of Educational Leadership - Coursework

Nigel Bateman

Studying the Master of Educational Leadership has given me the confidence to advance my career and lead change in the educational context. I am very committed to the teaching profession and believe that it's time for change in the public school educational landscape. I believe that I need to be conversant with current educational theories, take time to reflect upon my leadership style and grow my capacity to lead.

I most enjoy the way the course content relates to current issues in schools and how the assessments are practical and allow me to tie current theory to my school experiences. As the leading university in the state I knew that I would be exposed to quality lecturers who are experts in their chosen field and have made an impact in education. I liked the way the course allowed for part-time study over four years and the options structure that allowed for freedom to follow areas of interest.

Master of Teaching - Coursework (Early Childhood)

Lisa Zhang

I chose to study a Master of Teaching in Early Childhood because I really like children and I am keen to get to know Australia's education system. My favourite thing about the course is the amazing teachers! They are so passionate, caring and supportive. I also enjoy group work, because we have such a small group and I've gotten really close with my peers.

UWA is such a beautiful university and the academic achievements are incredible. I love the area so I moved to Nedlands, and I am now studying and enjoying the environment - and the people are so friendly.
