Applying with a partially completed program from another institution
Have you already begun a higher degree by research at another institution?
For students applying on the basis of an enrolment in a partially completed master’s or PhD program at another institution, the time already used will normally be deducted from the time limit for the research degree at UWA.
Approved applicants will be required to provide proof of withdrawal from their other studies and evidence of any previous Research HECS Exemption award (RHEA) or Research Training Scheme (RTS) funding before enrolment in the program at UWA.
Students who are applying on the basis of enrolment in, or partial completion of, PhD studies at another institution must also include a Research Proposal (as per the UWA Guidelines for preparing Research Proposals, including a Research Proposal Coversheet).
Applicants who hold an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) from another university and who wish to transfer to UWA should contact the UWA Scholarships Office for advice. APAs are not normally transferable from other universities to UWA, and applicants are usually required to apply for scholarships through the normal scholarships selection process.
