Care and support

Find help balancing your studies, work and personal life

Not feeling the best? Feeling a little anxious, out of sorts or stressed can be part of adjusting to the life of a busy student. At times, you may not be too sure where to find help or where to go.

We provide someone to talk to in a confidential, supportive environment, and can help you with a variety of issues, including:

  • problems with your study
  • conduct concerns
  • advice on making a complaint
  • reporting options
  • on-campus support
  • seeking emergency financial and housing support
  • and more

It’s important to remember if your mental health is affecting your studies, the sooner you seek help, the sooner support can be provided. We’ll discuss with you the various support available on and off campus and help you book appointments if needed. You can also bring along a friend or support person with you, and if you’re unable to come to campus, an alternate location can be arranged.

Come have a chat with us about what's concerning you by visiting Student Wellbeing reception, First Floor, Student Central or call 6488 2423. If you are wishing to disclose impacts of sexual assault or harassment, please email disclosure@uwa.edu.au.

UWA zero tolerance policy

Talk to your Unit Coordinator

Sometimes a conversation with your unit coordinator may seem a little difficult, but it is always best to chat with them if you are concerned. Use the conversation to find out where you are up to and gain advice on how to improve. Even though this may be difficult, it is better to have the conversation soon, rather than waiting until the week of exams or assessments. Our Welfare Officers are available to chat to if you are not sure how to approach your concern.
