Water Awareness Program
The Water Awareness Program encourages confidence in swimming and water safety activities. The program educates you on water safety and safe swim skills. At the end of the program, you will have a greater understanding of your own water safety and how to help others. Each session is 45 minutes in duration. This program is designed as a short course, providing students with the knowledge and ability to be safer in various aquatic environments.

Stand Up Paddle Board and Kayak Experience
10 March 2023, 11am-12:45pm
Come and try Kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding at UWA! Join us for a fun-filled morning of adventure as we explore the waters of Matilda Bay.
Our experienced instructors will guide you through the basics of kayaking and paddle boarding. We'll provide all the necessary equipment, including life jackets and paddles, so all you need to bring is your sense of adventure and a willingness to try something new.
During the event, you'll have the chance to meet other international students from different countries, make new friends, and create lasting memories.
Don't forget to be SunSmart, bringing sunscreen, water, a hat and wearing appropriate clothing. We also recommend bringing a change of clothes, as you might get wet! A basic level of swimming ability will be required.

Learn to Play Tennis
10 March 2023-31 March 2023, 2pm-4pm
Join us for a four-week tennis course at the UWA Tennis Courts, where you'll have the opportunity to learn from professional coaches and meet other students from around the world.
This course will operate as four weekly sessions, held every Friday, 2-4pm for 4 weeks.
No matter your skill level or experience, our coaches will cater to your individual needs and help you improve your game. We encourage you to bring your own equipment if you have it, but don't worry if you don't - we'll have some available for you to use.
During the course, you'll also have the chance to participate in UWA Sport's Champions of the Court series. This friendly competition is a great way to meet new friends and find out more about the UWA Tennis Club.
We recommend wearing comfortable, SunSmart clothing and bringing a hat and water to stay hydrated during the sessions. In the event of unsuitable weather, we'll reschedule the session to an alternative date, so please stay up to date with our communications to ensure you don't miss out on any of the fun.

During the course, our professional coaches will guide you through the basics of kayaking and paddleboarding, so no prior experience is necessary. We'll provide all the necessary equipment, including life jackets and paddles, so all you need to bring is your sense of adventure and a willingness to try something new.
Throughout the course, you'll have the chance to meet other international students from different countries, make new friends, and create lasting memories. Don't forget to bring sunscreen, water, a hat, and appropriate clothing, as well as a change of clothes, as you might get wet! A basic level of swimming ability will be required.

Join us for a four-week learn to play cricket course, designed specifically for fresher international students.
This course will operate as four weekly sessions, held every Tuesday, 1pm-2pm for 4 weeks. Please note there will be no session on 25 April.
Our experienced coaches will guide you through the basics of cricket, including batting, bowling, and fielding. No prior experience is necessary - we welcome all levels of skill and ability.
During the course, you'll have the chance to meet other international students from around the world, make new friends, and learn more about Australian culture. We'll provide all the necessary equipment, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a willingness to try something new.
In addition to learning the skills of the game, you'll also have the opportunity to participate in friendly matches and learn about the rules and strategies of cricket. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, being SunSmart, and bringing water to stay hydrated during the sessions.

Cricket Competition

Join us for a chance to show off your cricket skills, make new friends, and experience the thrill of competition. Our tournament is open to all levels of skill and ability, so don't be shy - come and join in the fun!
The tournament will take place at James Oval on campus, and we'll provide all the necessary equipment. Just bring yourself, your enthusiasm, and a sense of fair play.
During the tournament, you'll have the opportunity to meet other international students from different countries, enjoy some friendly rivalry, and make lasting memories. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, being SunSmart, and bringing water to stay hydrated during the matches.

Get ready to join our three-week come and try table tennis course, designed to help you learn the basics of the game, improve your skills, and have fun!
Open to all skill levels and abilities, you will learn the basics of table tennis, improve your technique, and learn how to play a competitive game.
We encourage you to bring your own paddles and balls if you have them, and will have gear to borrow if you don't. Most importantly, bring yourself, your enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
During the course, you'll have the opportunity to meet other international students from different countries, make new friends, and enjoy some friendly competition. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing and bringing water to stay hydrated throughout the sessions.
By the end of the course, you'll have learned the basics of table tennis, improved your skills, and made some new friends along the way.
