Thesis: Pangenome study of Brassicas and blackleg disease causing fungal pathogen Leptosphaeria maculans
I will be studying disease resistance genes in an important aggricultural crop, canola, and pathogen virulence genes in its blackleg causing fungal pathogen Leptosphaeria maculans.
Why my research is important
This research is important for understanding genomic variation within populations. It will help to pinpoint disease resistance genes in canola and pathogenicity genes in the pathogen. Ultimately, the research will facilitate effective and sustainable management of the devastating blackleg disease worldwide.
