My research allows me to get into the field and directly engage with founders and managers working in the startup space. By better understanding how firms interact in networks, we are able to introduce more effective support for startups and help stimulate the broader innovation ecosystem.Dr Daniel Schepis
Dr Daniel Schepis is a lecturer and researcher at the UWA Business School, specialising in collaborative innovation, networking and corporate social responsibility.
A self-confessed ‘product of UWA’, Dr Schepis completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University before moving into the word of academia. Dr Schepis is currently engaged in two exciting research projects.
The first is a longitudinal study of an innovation hub, exploring how large companies can better engage with startups. This project is extending the scope to an international network of hubs that may enable start-ups to internationalise easier and access opportunities around the world.
Dr Schepis’ second project explores how companies are using social media for corporate social responsibility purposes. The project will attempt to identify approaches to engage stakeholders in a more meaningful way.
Dr Schepis has received funding for his research via the following awards:
