Artist, community artist and humanitarian

Paul Trinidad is a master printmaker and artist working in the fields of painting, drawing and time-based media. Paul has worked in the UWA School of Design for 30 years, starting as an Artist in Residence and drawing inspiration from an innovative approach to art and design.

Since 2009, Paul has been instrumental in facilitating cultural exchange with Indonesia. This includes bringing artists and touring exhibitions from Indonesia to Australia and establishing a Bali Studio study program for undergraduate students at UWA. These projects are based on social capital, inclusion and connectivity as principal determinants of sustainability.

“As a professional working at UWA I believe my mission is to help students understand how rare and valuable each one of us is,” said Paul.

“I pursue the ideal that creativity is embedded in the two-way street of learning from and contributing to society, welfare of cultural practices and humanitarian support.”
