Andy Quilty

Started at UWA: 2014

Multidisciplinary artist and lecturer

Andy Quilty is a multidisciplinary artist engaged with the experience, documentation and interrogation of societal anxieties around criminality in a suburban context.

As well as lecturing in Fine Arts at UWA’s School of Design, Andy is a Program Patron for the Military Art Program Australia, a non-profit assisting military veterans through art therapy.

He also works across the state facilitating art workshops in schools, penal institutions, community groups and Aboriginal art centres.

He enjoys working collaboratively with students from a range of disciplines to explore creative processes in ambitious, critical and innovative ways.

“The School of Design is a supportive, innovative and open minded community,” he says. “The experienced staff with knowledge and skills across a range creative disciplines allow for a cross-pollination of ideas and diverse creative outcomes.”
