This two-day workshop is designed for postgraduate students, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and researchers in healthcare. It will cover topics such as searching Medline, Embase and other databases, assessment of risk of bias, generation of forest plots, sensitivity analysis, interpretation of forest plots and funnel plots and reporting and critically evaluating systematic reviews.  Participants will be involved in hands on sessions in small groups, learning how to use software such as RevMan and GRADEpro-GDT.

Clinical Professor Sanjay Patole
Clin Prof Sanjay Patole is a consultant neonatologist at King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women.  In addition to neonatology qualifications, he holds a Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH) from James Cook University and MSc in Clinical Trials (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine). He has 200 publications in Medline Indexed peer-reviewed journals, 47 of which are systematic reviews.

Clinical Associate Professor Shripada Rao
Clinical A/Prof Shripada Rao is a consultant neonatologist at King Edward and Perth Children’s Hospital. In addition to his qualifications in paediatrics, he also holds an MSc in Biostatistics and is completing a PhD on the benefits of probiotic supplementation in surgical neonates.  He has 81 publications in peer-reviewed journals, 37 of which are systematic reviews.

Along with Education Coordinator Dr Gayatri Jape, and Tutors Dr Sam Athikarisamy, Dr Mangesh Deshmukh, Dr Abhijeet Rakshasbhuvankar and Kwi Moon.

The course runs from 9.00am-5.00pm on Saturday 14 September, and from 9.00am-2.15pm on Sunday 15 September. Tea and lunch breaks are provided.
