Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) is the category of professional recognition suited to those with relatively limited teaching or learner-support responsibilities or experience. It is also a good starting point for those with significant experience but minimal professional development in teaching and learning. Suitable for tutors, demonstrators and a range of professional staff.
- Tutors with at least two semesters of teaching/demonstrating experience;
- Academics new to teaching;
- Clinical educators; and/or,
- Educational designers and other professional and support staff.
The Experiential Route to AFHEA is designed for UWA staff (both academic and professional) who already have some experience in teaching and learning support and who have completed professional development related to teaching and learning.
