Can I still organise an event at UWA?

Yes you can, however all events must comply with current WA Government vaccination requirements and university requirements. 

Do I need a COVID Event Plan or Checklist?

A COVID-19 Event Plan or Checklist is no longer required, however organisers should ensure that events are planned with appropriate health and safety protocols in place, including:

  • Provide adequate hand sanitiser and soap
  • Maintain hygiene standards and conduct frequent cleaning
  • Manage shared space to allow for physical distancing where possible
  • Request that unwell people do not attend

For staff and internal UWA events, contact events@uwa.edu.au.

For student events, contact events@guild.uwa.edu.au.

For externally-run events, contact the UWA entity that has taken your booking.

What are the vaccination requirements for members of the public attending UWA events?

To comply with the government health advice

What are the current contact tracing requirements for events?

Under current WA State Government Directions, contact tracing is only required for people visiting a hospital.

However, proof of vaccination requirements still apply and must meet WA State Government directions and University requirements.

What are the current distancing and hygiene requirements?

Patrons are reminded to practise good personal hygiene (wash hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitiser; cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or use your elbow).

Masks are no longer mandatory but all staff, students and visitors should feel empowered to continue to wear a mask on campus if they choose. Masks are also encouraged where physical distancing is not possible.

Do I need to wear a mask to visit the University?

Masks are not mandatory on campus. However all staff, students and visitors should feel empowered to continue to wear a mask on campus if they choose to. Masks are also encouraged where physical distancing is not possible.

Patrons and event organisers should check the State Government’s requirements before organising or attending a UWA event.

Is proof of vaccination required to come to an event at UWA?

Staff, students or visitors are not required to show proof of full vaccination to enter indoor University premises, other than venues covered by the WA Government vaccination requirements.
