Professor Rick Krever is a researcher in taxation law and policy, working with international aid agencies and international organisations to help build revenue capacity in developing nations.
By providing practical and theoretically sound guidance to improve tax systems and revenue collection, Professor Krever helps governments provide better services to its citizens.
Dedicated to making a positive difference to the world, Professor Krever has been appointed to a number of Australian government tax reform committees and inquiries, and provides pro bono assistance to social welfare organisations including the Australian Council of Social Service and Shelter NSW.

LL.M. Harvard Law School
Post-conflict specialist for the United Nations, European Union, and International Monetary Fund
Assisted with the rebuilding of civil states in East Timor, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Kosovo after wars
Appointed to a number of Australian government tax reform committees and inquiries

Professor Krever has received more than 65 research grants over the course of his career, including more than $500,000 in category three research grants from organisations such as:
- International Fiscal Association
- Asian Development Bank Institute
- Australian Tax Forum
- Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
- PricewaterhouseCoopers
He has also received 10 ARC Discovery and Linkage grants.
Teaching and supervisor opportunities

Professor Krever teaches the unit Goods and Services Taxation. In addition to teaching at UWA, Professor Krever has taught at universities around the world and provided graduate courses in Canada, the United States, Austria and the Netherlands.
He takes a Socratic approach to teaching, using case studies to help students learn to ask the right questions and find the best solutions.
Professor Krever has been supervising PhD students since 2000, all within the areas of taxation law and policy.
