Emily Van Eyk

Architect and award-winning teacher

Emily Van Eyk is a practising architect and lecturer in UWA’s undergraduate architecture course at the School of Design.

She is focused on creating a robust though enjoyable fundamental understanding of the built environment for new students through hands-on experience and broad exposure to art and design as well as architecture.

“I love the collective learning that evolves from a design studio when we are tasked with being critical – critical of how and why we design, and for whose benefit. We need our future designers to be clever, shrewd and compassionate.”

As well as her role at UWA, Emily is a director of architecture practice Mt Eyk.
