For nearly 30 years, Barking Gecko has created exquisite and thought-provoking productions, making it WA’s longest-running theatre company.
About the partnership
UWA is proud to be Barking Gecko Theatre Company’s Innovation Partner. This highly regarded company is renowned for putting children and young people at the heart of its work.
Barking Gecko draws upon UWA’s diverse research community to inform the development of new work and to maximise and measure the impact of that work. It also makes use of our beautiful campus through the enormously popular Ensemble program for children aged five to 17. The company also works closely with the University’s theatres to devise new ways for children to actively participate in culture and their own learning.
Through the partnership, Barking Gecko will bring its world-class productions to children and families at UWA’s campus, starting with Bambert's Book of Lost Stories.
The Junior Gecko Ensemble is a wonderful program that allows any child to release their inner creative abilities. To see your child glow with joy and confidence after a session is priceless. I highly recommend this program to all kids.ENSEMBLE PARENT
