Biography
Tauel has been teaching since 2001 in five different universities. He has been working in Communication Studies at UWA since 2007.
Key research
Tauel's broad research area is critical theory, more particularly, critical theory about the subjects of communication, democracy and theories of play.

Tauel coordinates the following units
Comm 1101 Human Technology - Debating Communication
Comm 2201 - Communications and Mass Media
Comm 3304 - Designing Virtual Play (occasionally).

He also teaches the Honours unit Comm 7484 - Strategic Communication.

Tauel is the Arts Faculty's representative on the Board of Studies for the Design Major
Future research
Tauel hopes to play a substantial role in repairing the public sphere.
Funding received
Tauel has been granted a number of travel awards for presenting conference papers and has also received University funding for the publication of his first book.
Industrial relevance
Tauel is able to consult on issues of corporate communication and public relations.
