Biography
Oscar joined UWA in 1995 as a Lab Technician in the Chemistry teaching labs. He became the Chief Laboratory Technician in Chemistry in 2002, the year that Chemistry joined the School of Biomedical, Biomolecular and Chemical Sciences.
Roles, responsibilities and expertise
The Chief Laboratory Technician supervises other staff in the Chemistry teaching labs, maintains the third year Physical Chemistry Lab (including student lab allocations), is responsible for analytical instruments in the second floor instrument lab and handles radiation badges for the MCS building.
Oscar is point of contact for Chemical analysis by the following techniques: AAS, FTIR, UV-VIS, ICP-OES, DTA/DSC, Powder XRD, GC, HPLC and ASV.
