Biography
Kati Tonkin holds a Ph.D in German and European Studies from the University of Western Australia (awarded with Distinction in 2005).
She has conducted research in Germany and in Austria and is currently Associate Professor of European Studies and German Studies, and the Convenor of the European Studies program.

Teaching
Kati teaches the beginners stream in German (GRMN1101 and GRMN1102) and all levels of European Studies.
She is currently supervising four Ph.D students and numerous honours students in European Studies.
Current projects
The response of Austrian-Jewish writers to the rise of ethnic German nationalism in the 1920s.
