Biography

Brenda joined UWA in 2006, having previously been in full time practice in the area of professional indemnity insurance, specialising in health law.
Brenda continues to consult to private practice. She currently serves on the Clinical Ethics Service for Princess Margaret Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital, and on the WA Reproductive Technology Council.

Key research

Brenda's principal research interests are in Health Law, Torts Law and Insurance Law. She completed her PhD at the University of Tasmania. The title of her doctoral thesis is: 'Interventions in Perinatal Medicine: A Jurisdictional Analysis'.

Teaching

Brenda's teaching experience is principally in the areas of Torts Law, Health Law and Constitutional Law. At UWA, she teaches Torts and an elective unit, Medicine and the Law.
