A conservation area of approximately 14ha will be established to protect the native flora, vegetation and fauna.
The University has specifically acknowledged the importance of the bushland to the Carnaby's Black Cockatoo and has committed to various direct and indirect off-sets to assist with the Cockatoo's conservation.
In total, the University’s direct and indirect conservation measures are estimated at over $100 million, subject to development approval.

Controlled access, to ensure the balance between public access and conservation is managed effectively into the future, will be provided within the conservation areas. The location of pathways is under consideration by the University, in consultation with the Western Australian Planning Commission and the Department of the Environment and Conservation.
